Between Tregastel and Perros Guirec there was an excellent view point.

The beach at Perros Guirec-Locals returning from a day's sailing.The white sandy beach was practically deserted.There was a car park just behind the promenade.

We had very little time to stop but looks well worth another visit in summer.

Ankou statue in the church of Ploumilliau . Ankou is a personification of death in Breton mythologywho comes to collect the souls of the deceased.More a Celtic legend,in the dead of night a creaking axle of a cart can be heard passing down the silent lanes. It halts at a door; the summons given and a soul leaves the doomed house.

Ploumanach Harbour.The village of Ploumanach is built nearly into the sea, in the midst of rocks overhanging the harbour. It is almost exclusively frequented by fishermen; off the coast lie a group of rocks or islands called Les Sept Iles.

From 1866 Perros-Guirec welcomed its first holiday makers.Since then the sheltered dock for pleasure craft has been created.

On the beach at Ploumanach is a small statue of Saint Guirec.In the past when a wax model was there ,the young women in search of a husband would stick a pin into the nose of the Saint.If it stayed in , they would marry within a year..

Chapel on rock at Port Blanc in the heart of the pink granite coast.At Port Blanc you can walk along the beach and enjoy the sunset.

Perros Guirec is a popular seaside resort, and has great beaches and opportunities for water and beach sports. There are three large sandy beaches . Plage Trestraou is probably the best for swimming and sunbathing, as it is more sheltered than the others and receives full sunshine.

Brittany is also known for its calvaries, elaborately carved sculptures of crucifixion scenes, to be found at crossroads in villages and small towns especially in Western Brittany.

Brittany also has several old fortified towns. The walled city of Saint-Malo , a popular attraction, is also an important port linking Brittany with England and the Channel Islands. The town of Roscoff is also served by ferry links with England and Ireland.
